People tend to overcomplicate life.
We overthink, over schedule ourselves, and make life much harder than it is, but, life can change for the better instantly with a simple mindset shift.
My professional one-liner displayed in my RESULTS Center’s foyer is:
“Give value, do more than is expected.”
My team and I do our best every day to live out this mission with our clients and partners. We do this by over preparing, over gifting, over serving, thinking ahead and sharing wisdom.
The second mantra is:
“Live every day like it’s a weekend!”
This means consciously designing your life to love every day and not just the weekends.
When you begin to shift your mindset this way, you can build a life and career that you love. Instead of living for the holidays or days off, you can create your 7-Day Weekend Life.
Today I’m on a plane headed to Vancouver, BC, to hang with one of my best friends, Peter Thomas and his wife, Rita.
We’ll be on their yacht, Happiness, discussing this concept. Peter and I co-authored Business Ground Rules with Tammy Kling a few years back and became very close because of this first activity I’m about to share.
Peter and I believe strongly that when you get clarity on your values, you can build your goals and life around what you value.
So, if you want to live more of a 7-Day Weekend Life, I’m suggesting that activity number one is to document your top values first. Then, set your goals and drive your activities in alignment with them.
This is giant. Many don’t even have this on their radar! There is incredible power in clear values.
The 2nd activity is called MOLO which stands for “more or less of.” This is perhaps Peter’s favorite activity I’ve shared with him. As you progress through life, periodically audit yourself and list what you want more of and what you want less of. Then, audit what you need to do more of and what you need to do less of. MOLO can help you pinpoint exactly what you need to do to achieve the 7-day weekend life.
Maximizing Your First Impression What’s in a logo? What’s in ours? Logos can be unique, or they can just be.
